Last week, I attended one of IndyHub‘s largest events, IndyVolved – a showcase of some of Indianapolis’ greatest opportunities for young professionals to get involved in nonprofit work, volunteering, board service, and community projects.

And I was completely impressed and excited to see YNPN Indy.  They looked completely legitimate and official.  Others have come to expect this.

But I was there in the beginning.  Five years ago,  a rag tag group of friends road tripping up to Grand Rapids for a national YNPN conference and a dream to relaunch a chapter in Indianapolis.  No plans, no experience, no structure, and no expertise.  Just a group of friends with a dream.

And from that, is a sustainable organization that has grown tremendously in its reach, its breadth of programs, and its depth of impact on the Indianapolis community of young nonprofit professionals.

I am so grateful to have been a part of starting something so special and to witness its flourishing!
