Myth #10:  Networking requires superficial follow-up.

Sure, follow-up can feel a little forced.

But it can become quite natural!

Take time to keep up with people, organizations, and communities that you have relationships with.

Try these ideas:

  • Forward an interesting news article with an “I thought of you…” note
  • Call about an upcoming event with a “Will I see you there?” question
  • Respond to positive industry news with a “Congrats!” message

*These types of email messages are fun to send and receive.

So, find substantive ways to follow-up with contacts.
