As fundraisers, it is our responsibility and privilege to build positive relationships on behalf of an organization or a cause.
To be effective in our duties, we must be skillful in our interactions and focused on people and their preferences.
Stop looking around the room at who else you could be speaking to. Stop checking your watch for how much time has passed. Stop interrupting with your own stories and antics.
The person you are speaking with right now is the most important person in the room.
