Today’s final session is “Power Dynamics in the Social Sector: Get Unstuck and Get Delivered” with Kate Capossela and Mike Goorhouse.

Instead of focusing on the content, my blog post will highlight the techniques used in presenting an engaging session.  If you want to be an effective speaker, I recommend you take note of the strategies identified below:

  • The presenters had attendees up and moving within the first five minutes.  What a great way to re-energize attendees late afternoon!
  • The presenters spent more time listening than talking – incorporating feedback in their progress.  What a good way to make the content relevant to attendees!
  • The presenters facilitated a brief quiz for self-assessment.  What a perfect way to help attendees apply the learnings to their own lives!
  • The presenters incorporated a role play.  What a smart way to connect big-picture ideas with a real-world example for attendees!
