What a great example of a successful collaboration!  Two 501(c)(3) organizations, Indiana Black Expo, Inc. and Indiana Sports Corporation, partner to organize the annual event Circle City Classic.  They leverage their respective strengths to create something better together than either could have accomplished separately.

More than just a football game or a parade, Circle City Classic serves a mission “to support educational achievement, promote cultural excellence, while showcasing the spirit, energy and tradition of America’s historically black colleges and university.”  Since its 1984 founding by Reverend Charles Williams, more than 2 million dollars has been raised, benefiting Hoosier students pursuing higher education.  This year’s college fair features more than 50 institutions of higher education.  Impressive!

Not to mention…Circle City Classic brings millions of dollars to Indianapolis (WTHR coverage).  It ranks 7th highest for economic impact – $14.8 million in revenue!  As a citizen of this city, I am certainly glad about that.

Circle City Classic is an event for anybody and everbody – passionate about young people, higher education, nonprofit collaborations, multicultural opportunities, or Indianapolis’ economic development.  I encourage you to check it out!  If you have attended Circle City Classic, please leave a comment about your experience.
