In honor of National Mentoring Month, I wanted to highlight three individuals in my network that I consider mentors. They are nonprofit professionals that I respect and admire – making a big difference in Indianapolis.
Jill Kramer – intelligent and classy! Jill has made an incredible impact in the world of philanthropy and education. After serving as a program officer at one of the top foundations for more than a decade, Jill recently moved to Ivy Tech Community College. I can’t wait to see the great things that she wil be doing there.
Larry Smith – thoughtful and engaging! After a successful stint in the for-profit world, Larry transitioned to leadership in the nonprofit community. Now serving as Senior Vice President of Organizational Advancement for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, Larry is pushing the Y forward and creating a lasting impact in Pike Township.
Marlene Dotson – poised and resourceful! Marlene knows how to get things done for the causes she is passionate about. She founded the only statewide network (in the entire nation!) specifically for Latino victims of domestic violence. I’m looking forward to seeing even more from Marlene in the future.
Indianapolis is blessed to have these fine folks in our community! We are a better city because of them.
